Position Title: Compensation Manager

Job Summary:
The Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the compensation function for the institution. The Compensation Manager plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the institution’s goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for conducting external salary market comparisons for staff and ensuring that university compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position manages any Compensation Team employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of any Compensation Team members. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation programs and practices.
Strong demonstrated experience in evaluating market and economic trends to recommend compensation ranges, adjustments to salary ranges, geographic differentials, merit and promotion budgets.
Strong demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining a compensation program, including the development of an infrastructure and classification schedules
Must have an understanding FLSA standards, including overtime exemption requirements and duties test.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data, information, and analytics.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and six years of progressively responsible experience in employee compensation
At least one year of experience managing subordinates.

Standard 8 to 5 with occasional nights and weekend
