The PURPOSE of the Project is to increase efficiency, mobility, and connectivity by:

• Improving travel times increasing trip reliability, and maximizing vehicle and person throughout

• Promoting equitable and sustainable multi-modal travel options

• Addressing the gap between existing I-10 ExpressLanes and planned ExpressLanes facilities

• Providing interregional continuity and consistency throughout the region

 

The Project aims to address the following NEEDS:

• Degradation of travel speeds within certain segments of the I-10 HOV lanes, particularly east of SR 57 and around the I-10/I-605 interchange,

• Growing travel demands, delay times, and lower trip reliability during the peak commute periods, and

• The ExpressLanes gap between I-605 and LA/SB County line once the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority's I-10 ExpressLanes project is completed in 2024.
