Position Title: Clinical Skills & Simulation Technician
Position Status: Full-time
Campus: Western University Campus-Pomona, CA
Provides support to the Director, Associate Director, and Educators of the Standardized Patient and Simulated Patient Programs by assisting, scheduling, managing, and operating the Simulation and Clinical Skills Labs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. 1. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to speak publicly. Must be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and represent the Western University Standardized Program. 2. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic non-invasive diagnostic equipment (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope and opthalmoscope/otoscope) as well as a general understanding of basic physical examination is helpful 3. Must have intermediate desktop computer skills and have a general knowledge of audio-video recording systems and a willingness to learn and master all software related to running a standardized patient program and simulation lab. 4. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments. 5. Ability to communicate with faculty and students on the proper use of computers and medical technology.
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years directly related work experience in a standardized patient and/or simulation lab or equivalent work environment. Proficiency with PC and relevant software applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
1. Education: BA or BS degree highly preferred in Computers, Media, Simulation, Education or any health discipline. 2. Experience: Experience with simulation technology/education preferred. Experience with audio/visual production equipment a plus.

40 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Some overtime may be required.
