Position Title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Veterinary Behavior
Campus: Western University Campus-Pomona, CA
We invite you to join the innovative and diverse faculty at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine (WesternU-CVM). We are seeking a colleague to contribute to the college’s mission to educate veterinary professionals and advance knowledge to address the contemporary needs of society. This team member will: • Provide content expertise in fundamentals of animal behavior and its veterinary clinical applications, contribute to scholarly advancement of the science, and incorporate this discipline in the curriculum. • Assume various teaching roles, when required, to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. • Provide support in the training of students in all levels of the DVM curriculum. • Serve on college and university standing committees. This position reports to the Dean. Academic activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; research activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Research; clinical activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Clinical Services; and professional activities are supervised by the Executive Associate Dean. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to orally communicate with others. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
2. Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
3. Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
4. Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
5. Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.
EDUCATION: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, PhD or other advanced degree/experience in Animal Behavior is required. Diplomate status or eligibility for certification examination in Veterinary Behavior is desired.
