Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor Small Animal Medicine

Job Summary:
Position reports to the Dean. Academic activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Professional activities are supervised by the Executive Associate Dean. Clinical activities are supervised by the Associate Dean of Clinical Services. Responsible for providing content expertise in small animal medicine, patient care services, and incorporation of this discipline in the curriculum. Will assume various teaching roles, when required to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Will provide support in the clinical training of students in all levels of the DVM curriculum. Will serve as a college wide resource in Small Animal Medicine.

1. Ability to orally communicate with others, both in person and by telephone. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students and outside contacts. 2. Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality. 3. Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility. 4. Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice. 5. Knowledge and skills in Small Animal Medicine.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION: An earned Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years small animal clinical experience
LICENSE: Currently hold a California Veterinary License or be eligible for a California Veterinary License or California University Veterinary License.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of small animal clinical experience preferred.
